Historical Event on 05/22/1545
Sher Shah Sur died. He was fatally wounded in an explosion on Kalanjara fort while preparing for an attack. He introduced the new silver rupee-coin ""Rupiya"" based on ratio of 40 copper coin pieces (paisa) per rupee and built several roads including the longest road of India known as Grand Trunk Road (now Natioinal Highway-2).

12/4/1894	Swami Brahmanand was born at Hamirpur district in UP. He joined freedom movement and participated in Salt Satyagraha, Non Cooperation Movement and Quit India Movement. He also established Brahmanand Inter College (1938), Brahmanand Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya (1943) and Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya (1960).
8/14/1998	The Government transferred Revenue Secretary N. K. Singh and Finance Secretary Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
11/15/1913	Ravindranath Tagore (1861-1941), received the message that he was awarded with Noble Prize in literature for his collection of poems ""Gitanjali"" . He was the first Indian to be awarded with Nobel Prize. (13 or 15)
