Historical Event on 3/14/1931
First Indian talkie film 'Alam Ara' released at Majestic Cinema, Bombay. Directed by Ardeshir Irani, the film was 11,152 ft. long and was produced by Imperial Film Co., Bombay and beared censored No. 10043 on March 11. The most remarkable thing about this film was birth of sound in Indian films, it came with a bang and quickly displaced the silent movies and brought revolutionary changes in the whole set up of the industry.

3/29/1992	Centenary celebrations of Tansa Dam held at Tansa. No of Seats of the Standing Committee and Education Committee increased from 20 to 27and 20 to 26 respectively and that of the B.E.S. & T. Committee from 12 to 17 (Vide Maharashtra Act XXI of 1992) (CIVIC).

4/1/1889	Hindu', English language newspaper changed its perodicity from weekly (20/09/1888) to daily.
11/21/1963	First sounding rocket launched from Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS). Thus started India's space programme.
3/3/1997	Indian Socialist Party headed by Arangil Sridharan merges with Lok Sakthi. It was floated by Ramakrishna Hedge.
2/25/2000	Justice M. Srinivasan (63), Supreme Court Judge at the Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, died after prolonged illness.
7/22/1998	Sahib Singh Verma, Delhi Chief Minister, and BJP vice-president K. L. Sharma are fined Rs. 100 each for riding a motorcycle without helmet in New Delhi.
